Fire Prevention

The best protection against fire is preventing one from occurring at all. By educating yourself and your family, plus taking the steps to properly equip your home, the chances of ever having to personally deal with a fire become less.

The Owen Sound Fire Department is fortunate to have Fire Prevention professionals on our staff team. There is also a wealth of information here, on our web site, to guide you through the steps of effective fire prevention.

Fire Prevention Office

The Fire Prevention Division is comprised of one Fire Inspector and one Fire Prevention Officer. The normal working hours are from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily, with the exception of weekends and statutory holidays.

These professionals are dedicated to eliminating fire deaths and injuries through education programs and regular inspections.
