Hall Tours

Visitors Welcome.

A visit to the local fire hall is on every child's wish list! Children, large and small, will love a tour of the Owen Sound Fire Hall.

The Fire Hall is open to Owen Sound residents, schools, groups, organizations and anyone else interested in fire and life safety educational tours.

During the tour, visitors are introduced to the trucks, the station, the equipment and department personnel. Fire Department personnel teaches appropriate fire and life safety behavior in a friendly, easy-to-understand way.

Station tours stress the importance of children not playing with matches or lighters, recognizing the sound of a smoke alarm, escape planning and the "stop-drop-and-roll" procedure among other fire-safety topics.

Tours and presentations usually range from 30 minutes to 1 hour in length. Firefighters conducting the tours are skilled, knowledgeable and share their knowledge through informative presentations. Videos, participant interaction, handouts and displays are all part of the tour.

Advanced bookings for tours are required. Call the fire hall to book your tour during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, at 519-376-2512.

No matter how old the child, from one to eighty-one, a hall tour at the Fire Station is a fun and worthwhile experience!

Groups that have visited the station:

  • Schools
  • Daycare Centres
  • Birthday Parties
  • Industries
  • Girl Guides
  • Boy Scouts
  • Service Groups
  • Various Other Groups

Note: Tours and public education sessions are only for Owen Sound Residents, schools or organizations.
